Icons Locked in place
I can't move icons in open windows or on the desktop. What is wrong?
For the Desktop
Control (right) click on your desktop > move your pointer down to Sort By > select None or Snap to Grid.
For Finder Windows
Control (right) click on a Finder Window > move your pointer down to Sort By > select Name.
You can try other Sort By options for Finder, but personally I prefer keeping then in alphabetical order.
