Are they wifi-only models or cellular models?
You would be charged more by your cellular carrier if you added the new one to your cellular service account but did not remove the old one from that account.

Any charges are based solely on the Apple ID. If both of them are using the same Apple ID, no.
i bought a new ipad air 4. Can I keep using the old one as backup without being charged extra for having two as opposed to only one in the same house?
