2012 27" iMac use as a display for M1 MacMini?

I have a late 2012 iMac 27" that is very slow. I was interested in getting the new Mac Mini and using the old iMac as a display. Can this work? if so what cables /changes need to be made?

Thanks!

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

No that will not work, because the 2020 Mac Mini's do not support using 2012 iMac as a display.

If you purchase an M1 Mac Mini, then you will need to have or get an external display for it.
