Best way to manage a shared apple ID
Me and my partner got an ipad that we will use together. What is the best way to set it up - should we create a new apple id or use one of ours?
iPad Air, iPadOS 14

Howdy,
Currently iPads are not setup as multi-user devices but I would highly recommend to NOT create an additional Apple ID for the iPad. Having multiple Apple IDs with purchases and such on them creates much confusion, not to mention you would have to buy things again for the new ID.
Now, you shouldn't share your Apple ID with others
From Apple ID Frequently Asked Questions
Can I share an Apple ID with someone else?
Your Apple ID should not be shared with anyone else. It provides access to personal information including contacts, photos, device backups, and more. Sharing your Apple ID with someone else means you are giving them access to all your personal content and may lead to confusion over who actually owns the account. To share purchases, photos, a calendar, and more with someone else, try Family Sharing, iCloud Photo Sharing, or other easy-to-use sharing features.
but you can setup multiple Faces or Finger Prints to log into the iPad making it easier to share if you really want to (using one or the other ID). You must really trust your partner for this.
