I was trying to authorize the computer that my iTunes is on. I have not used this in ages (iTunes on PC is awful) and it told me I cant authorize more than 5 computers. I do not have 5 computers hooked to this account but I have 3 iPads, 2 iPhones, 3 AppleTV's, 1 Mac and 1 PC (or I should). So am i not allowed to add the PC because I already have too many devices...this seems like a very low number given how many devices a lot of people will have.
5 computers. iPhones and iPads don't count.
Try "Deauthorize all" -- see button at bottom right of second screenshot below from Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases - Apple Support and then authorize any computers you want to use.

If the number of authorized computers listed is more than what you expect, you might not have deauthorized the computers that you no longer use, gave away, or sold. You need to deauthorize all of your computers and then authorize each one that you still use.

After doing some clean up there is exactly 1 computer listed below (and some old iPads I still need to sort out) but I am still told I am over the 5 device limit. I had to resort to deauthorizing all computers which oddly worked but in no view could i ever see 5+ computers.
That is why I suggested Deauthorize All.
