Control center does not show when I try to swipe up or even hold the bottom of the face of the phone, just cannot access control center

Try rebooting the Watch. Press and hold the Digital Crown and power button together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The Watch will reboot, test.

It worked! Thanks. The apple icon remained for a long while, but when it disappeared I hit the crown and you solution worked. Good to know, thanks so much.
