My WiFi on my iPhone is permanently turned off and it won’t allow me to back up my phone

Back it up using iTunes (or Finder) on your computer connected to internet, disabling wifi.

I've always backed up my iPhone to my computer using airplane mode (therefore without any wifi connection).
