I just bought the IPad 12.9 Pro and have the 2nd generation pencil and it won’t connect.

My new iPad is not showing the Apple Pencil by Bluetooth. It is connected through a adaptor.

Hi! Hope this helps you!

  • Make sure to center your Apple Pencil (2nd generation) on the magnetic connector on the right edge of the iPad.

  • Restart your iPad, then try to pair again.
  1. Press and hold either the volume up or volume down button and the top button until the power off slider appears
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.

  • On the same screen, look under My Devices for your Apple Pencil. If you see it, tap . Then tap Forget this Device.

  • Connect your Apple Pencil in to your iPad and tap the Pair button when it appears after a few seconds.

  • If you don't see the Pair button, wait for one minute while your Apple Pencil charges. Then try connecting your Apple Pencil again and wait until you see the Pair button.
