Installed Big Sur onto MacBook Air and can not find Airplay icon to allow mirror to home tv?
A few things to double check and perform below:

That icon is replaced with the Screen Mirroring icon. If you do not see it on the Menu Bar then open System Preferences and click on Displays. Place a checkmark in Show Mirroring options in the menu bar when available.

Nope, when I hit screen monitoring, nothing happens. There are no choices to pick a room or TV. Used to go right to airplay with or without Apple TV on. Now it does not, with AppleTV off or on. What are we doing wrong
THANK YOU Axel F. We started with unplugging AppleTV for 10 seconds and that fixed it. All good now, just as before!
