I have a MacBook Pro (16 inch, 2019). For the last several months, when I am typing, frequently the LaunchPad pops up and prevents typing until I remove it. Disgusting for a $2200 product. Help.

I have worked with an advanced Apple Support rep (Cameron) for over two months and 20 to 30 hours on the phone. Finally he had me document by screenshot the problem and with great difficulty submitted it to Apple engineers. They diagnosed the problem and Cameron had me drag the LaunchPad icon from the TouchPad and that appears to have solved the problem.

We understand from your post that Launchpad pops up while you are typing and stays on the screen until you remove it. Are you using any gestures with your trackpad? If so, you may be inadvertently invoking Launchpad. To check go to System Preferences then click Trackpad. Remove the check next to Launchpad. Then test it and see if the issue persists. This article has information on how to open Launchpad which you can use to verify what you may be touching to cause Launchpad to open:

"Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. Thanks for the information. I followed your instructions, but Launchpad was already unchecked. So I deadended there with the problem still happening.
