iMovie and QuickTime files

I did NOT want iMovie files to change into QuickTime. How does that happen?

Files are associated with an application based on their suffix.

For .mov/.m4v/.mp4 that association is with QuickTime by default.

On Macs, you can change it to another application, if you wish – but for that one Mac only.

On iPads, I don’t think you can change it.
