I updated my old iPhone 6 to iOS 12.5.1, but when I try to update my Apple watch S2 it says I still need to update my iPhone. The reason I'm doing this is to pair my watch to my new iPhone 12 Pro. What should I try to fix this?
Thanks fireyjack, this is what I was using. I get stuck on step 1 after updating my iPhone 6 to 12.5.1, which my phone says is the latest iOS for iPhone 6. Then when I try to update my watch it says I need to update my iPhone.
Your iphone 6 will only pair with a watch that has WatchOS5 or below.
Your apple watch 2 must have WatchOS6 and this requires a phone with ios 13 which is an iphone 6s or higher.
