Reinstalling macOS Big Sur

Hi.

So, I got a MacBook Air M1 from Apple (Houston) and had a friend ship it to me in Nigeria.

Apparently, with all the excitement, I might have entered a password I’m not sure of because the only password I use for my Apple products kept bouncing back.

Anyway, I shut down the system and when I tried using it, the Password wouldn’t take me in.

I consulted YouTube and followed the steps until I got to reinstalling macOS Big Sur; however, that’s been the issue till now. Once it gets to 54 minutes remaining, it just hangs in there for hours (find attached).

Kindly help as this is exactly a week since I got it and I’ve not been able to use it.

Thank you.
