I got 3 HDMI cables and non of them is any better. Monitor got 2 HDMI ports - both displays same. Monitor is Iiyama GB3461WQSU. Tomorrow I'm picking up a Display Port adapter from the store, hopefully this will help, but I'm just suprised that standard HDMI port can't display 4k resolution on the monitor as it said on tech spec of the Mac mini :(

The max resolution on that Iiyama GB3461WQSU display is 3440 x 1440@144Hz. A proper 4K (UltraHD) display, and what is provided by the HDMI port on the M1 mini is 3840 x 2160@60Hz. There is no way on earth your monitor can display 4K from the M1 mini, nor by any change of cable.

You can find topics where people are connecting ultra wide monitors to Mac mini m1, I just got usb-c to display port adapter and its still **** same. Its terrible that such a pro company like apple can't make it easy for the user... after 8 years of using apple products I'm very disappointed and frustrated for the first time.
