My phones touch screen has randomly stopped responding, the screen lights up when you press the lock button, but then the touch screen doesnt respond to anyhing so you cannot do anything on the screen.

Check out the steps below If the screen isn’t working on your iPhone or iPad:
"If your screen is too sensitive or responds intermittently to touch
If part of your screen doesn't respond, responds intermittently, or responds even when it's not touched, contact Apple Support for your iPhone or iPad."
