How do I restore text messages deleted today from my iCloud back up

To add on to MrHoffman's statement, if you are using Messages in iCloud, once deleted, they are deleted from all devices and iCloud, they are not technically part of your backup at that point and are NOT retrievable.

There’s no way to restore deleted messages, short of wiping and reloading your iPhone from a backup created prior to the deletion.
