After copying the Photos Library to an external hard drive ...

Hi


I was wondering, after I've copied my Photos Library to an external hard drive and I then delete the original one on my internal hard drive (to save space) ...


... and then one day I accidentally open Photos without this external hard drive connected to my Mac, what happens? Error?

One for two things will happen:


1 - you'll get a message that the System Photo Library couldn't be found.



Quit Photos, mount the End and double click on the library on the EHD to open it.


Also make sure the EHD is formatted to one of the formats in this screenshot:
