Apple Pencil (1st Generation)

I just received my Apple Pencil and it’s not staying connected and it’s stating that it’s 3% battery life.

Have you tried charging it up?

You can charge it by plugging it into the Lightning port of your iPad or by using the supplied cable charging adapter supplied in the Apple Pencil box.

Also, what iPad model are you using this 1st Apple Pencil with?

Just plug one end of the adapter into your charging cable, connected to your Apple power/charging adapter block, and plug the other end of the adapter into your Apple Pencil.

It's pretty simple.

In addition, you may need to entertain the possibility that you may have been sent a dead Apple Pencil and that you may have to return it for a replacement.

In that event, search online to locate and call contact your nearest, “local” Apple Store location to make an appointment to get your Apple Pencil replaced with another new Pencil.

OR, failing that,

Contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities OR by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.
