iCloud backup on multiple computers

I have two computers -- an MacBook Air and an iMac. I am about to replace the iMac. Do I need to have separate iCloud accounts to back up the computers separately? I will want to transfer the iMac data to the new iMac, and not get the MacBook Pro data involved in the process.

Yo be clear, iCloud does not offer a macOS backup. that would be Time Machine.

iCloud on a Mac only syncs the iCloud Drive folder and if enabled, the Desktop and Documents folders.
