Deleting iMovie library files

I’m trying to edit a video on iMovie 10 and I’m running out of space. I don’t have any other projects open to delete so I can’t free space up that way. I was wondering if I deleted video files I’ve already used from my iMovie library, will that delete them from the timeline and project I’m currently working on. I haven’t exported the project into a regular video yet.

It could be that you have huge Render Files taking up most of your hard drive space.

Open iMovie/Preferences and click the "Delete" button to get rid of them.

If the render files are needed at a later date iMovie will automatically recreate them.
