Find My Mac does not turn on

Hallo everyone,

I have an issue with my MacBook Pro late 2019 I would like to have some help with.

I set up my laptop with my account first, and then added one more, both administrators. While setting up the second account I was asked again to set up Find My Mac and there was no option to bypass it to finish the set up. After I set it up I unchecked the "find my Mac" option from iCloud settings because I wanted it to be working on the first account instead. I went back to the first account and then that option wouldn't turn on. I click on "Find My Mac" from iCloud preference pane, it greys out for few seconds and then it does never turn on.

I checked that find my Mac is on in Location Services. I'm running latest Big Sur.

Any help or tips would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We understand you are experiencing some issues with using Find My on your Mac that is set up with more than one Admin profile. We are happy to help provide some guidance.

To start, if you check both user accounts that you have created, does one of them still have Find My enabled, or are they both turned off at the moment? If so, please try making sure both are disabled and then follow the steps outlined here to turn it on with the profile you wish to use it with:

If you continue to experience issues, you may want to remove the other profile, then set up Find My on your main profile before re-adding the other user account:
