Have had my watch about a year. Never had this issue before - just started last week 2/18/2021 approx.
I've gone into settings to make sure always on is one - it's on.
I did a soft reboot
Was on chat with apple for about 20 min and got no where with the person I was on with.
Any thoughts or do I have to unpair and do a hard reboot

Are you, by any chance, in Theater Mode? That will stop the "Always On" display. See the replies to:
