Forgotten Log In Password

I cannot open my MAC because I cannot remember the log in password. I tried using my Apple ID and the Apple ID password. Nothing is working.

Is there anything that can be done?

If following the steps at https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/reset-your-mac-login-password-mh35902/mac don’t work you’ll want to contact Apple by call or chat( do not chat from the Mac) for help from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201232
