Reset iphone 6 to factory

I gave my iPhone to my niece. I know I can remove it from my devices, if I do that, will she be able to reset the phone so she can use it?

Factory reset i got an older iPad from a loved one, and I’d like to factory reset it but how do I go about that without it messing up the loved ones phone?
