can apple put a larger hard drive in may macbook air

i cant update my macbook air as i dont have enough space. Can i use ann external hardrive to do this and how?

As for Apple install a Larger internal Drive - Depends on the year of the computer. Sometime in 2016 to 2017 - Apple Soldered the RAM and Internal Drive to LogicBoard - thusly - No replacement parts can be installed
