Factory reset

Hi

I am trying to factory reset my ipad to give it to my daughter. When I go to erase all data, it is asking me for my passcode which is fine but immediately after that it is asking me for a "restrictions passcode".

I don't remember ever setting a restrictions passcode and it is coming up as incorrect. I am now locked out for an hour. This is so frustrating. I have tried using my normal passcode and also 1234 as I read that this is the default. Pretty sure I was never asked to set or use a restrictions passcode before at any point. I really don't know why apple make things so difficult. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James

There is no "default" passcode for anything in iOS.
