The reason why is I can’t upload over 5000 characters to this (Read that because it will help to get idea for this problem)

you can download it or read online

read about iPad update

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT204204

if you can’t update get apple support

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiK4eCx9-HvAhWWUn0KHWIcBbMQFjAAegQIAhAE&url=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.apple.com%2Fipad&usg=AOvVaw3sfrmdNRLDPcj2jrWiT-SV

if you updated delete YouTube and reinstall it and restart and check

if you can’t update you’ ve to soft reset iPad

and delete YouTube and reinstall it and restart or you can watch YouTube in web browser also 😃

or you can use similar apps to YouTube as a solution

  • #1 DailyMotion – YouTube's Laxer Clone.
  • #2 Vimeo – The World's Leading Creative Community.
  • #3 Twitch – Gamer Heaven.
  • #4 Vevo – The Best YouTube Alternative for Music.
  • #5 Metacafe – The Hipster's Choice Over YouTube.

I hope this will help resolve your problem....

😃

peace ✌🏿

if google changed their api breaking compatability with previous apps then they would have made an update for the app, if google set the ios supported requirements to be newer then ones ios device support then there is no solution, apart from maybe trying to get google to support older versions of ios for their app

The YouTube app is just a quick access portal to the actual YouTube Website.

Just use a Web browser to access the YouTube Website and login with your YouTube credentials there.

It will be much slower to load, but will work.

For this to be more successful, you will need to completely STOP using that well over 4-year old default iOS Safari Web browser as it is too old, not secure and not safe to use to access the Internet, any longer.

There are virtually NO MORE third party Web browsers left for 8-10 year old iPads!

Available and more popular third party Web browser choices are pretty much GONE, now.

If you must use these old iPad models, here is what is left for still updated Web browsers.

Pickins’ are slim, now!

ALook Web browser ( A fairly new Web browser primarily designed for old iOS device versions, but is still available to newer iOS/iPadOS devices, as well )

Dolphin Web browser

Maxthon Web browser

TOR private browser

TOR + VPN private browser

Turbo VPN private browser

This is pretty much it for iOS 9/10 compatible, third party Web browsers today.

The newest Web browser newcomer, ALook, appears to do a much better and faster job of loading and rendering the YouTube Website.

This is the ONLY way to watch YouTube on old iOS devices, now.

Best of Luck to You!

The old YouTube app for iOS 9/10 is no longer functioning now and is totally useless to old iPad users.

As soon as the app is launched and the user tries to play a video, a pop-up appears to update the app and stays up on the screen until the YouTube app gets updated.

Since this is NOT possible with any iPad models running iOS 9 or 10, you are stuck.

The pop-up stays up until the app is updated or you need to quit the YouTube app.

Either of which prevents the user from using the old YouTube app to play videos, now.

None of the other streaming video sites are YouTube!

Just other alternative, competing, video streaming sites, but contain NO YouTube content.
