connect a mac mini to iMac

I have a iMac late 2012 model using Catilina 10.15.7 all other questions on this topic are 5 years old, is this a practical option today? I like the 27" screen, the Air port time capsule

I think this model has reached its upgrade limit and aside from getting slower when starting up and using some applications it works fine, I increased RAM to 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 some years ago so all memory slots are in use.

Basically I am looking at options, Is connecting a current model mac mini to this iMac possible?

We get your question at least 10x per day and the answer is always the same. First thing to remember, Macs are computers, they ARE NOT external displays for other devices. You can keep trying, however you are wasting your time. If you need an external display, please just buy one, they start at $100 for a decent one and you won' t waste money on expensive cables on something that simply will not work.
