Auto hiding Safari Bookmarks/Reading/History bar on iPad while in Landscape Mode

When using Safari in landscape mode on my iPad, I can’t get rid of the column on the left which allows you to access bookmarks, reading list and history glasses. I’d like to be able to full the full screen instead while in landscape. This doesn’t happen in portrait mode. Thanks for any solutions.
