Big Sur. 2 Macs. 1 printer. Only one computer can print.

2013 MacPro, 2017 MacBook - both running Big Sur 11.2.3

Both on the same wifi network.

HP Officejet Pro 8610. Located between the two computers - about 3' away.

After latest update the Pro continued to print no problem.

The Book can find the printer via bonjour, but when trying to set up airprint, It can't connect.

The Pro is also using airprint. I can remove the printer and reinstall at will.

Both machines have latest HPsmart software on them.

Pro connects via HP Smart, book does not.

I've done the full print system reset on the book. No luck.

Any suggestions as to what might be the difference between the two that keeps one from connecting, or where I should look would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

MacBook

If all else fails download and try the demo version of VueScan. It will most likely support your model. The demo version is a full version which puts a watermark on the resulting scan. I use it and it's better than any of the software that came originally with my scanners.
