WidevineCdm Plugin Crash on Macbook Pro 2012 Help Please

Hello,

This past week all of a sudden I am not able to stream videos on my Macbook anymore. Never had a problem before, but now when I try to watch a show on Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. it says WidevineCdm Plugin crashed and will not load shows. Youtube works fine, and any downloaded movies I have in my iTunes account work as well. I have tried looking up how to fix this and cannot seem to get an answer. I'm not sure it it's because my computer is older, or if it's from something else. Like I said, it has never been a problem all these years until this past week.

Thank you in advance.

Safari no longer supports most web plug-ins. To load webpages more quickly, save energy, and strengthen security, Safari is optimized for content that uses the HTML5 web standard, which doesn't require a plug-in. To enhance and customize your browsing experience, use Safari extensions instead of web plug-ins.

Try installing Extensions.

I have not unfortunately. I plan on contacting Apple support tomorrow and see if they can help guide me through whatever I can do to fix it. I was on the help chat with Netflix for a couple hours a few days ago to see if they could get me access Netflix and they also could not fix it. I'm also hoping my old laptop is not useless now either. I was thinking of going to Best Buy and see if their Geek squad could help me but they haven't been available yet.

Hey, just found a fix for my problem - I downgraded my Firefox to a functional version (Firefox 77.0.1).

Installed it and immediately after I disabled automatic updates so FF won't update to v78 (WidevineCdm problem).

I already tried Netflix and Disney+ and both work just fine :)
