Screen time password reset

I have used screen time for my iPad, but I did not use an Apple ID because when I typed the correct password it would just tell me it was wrong (This is the same password I used to login here), so I just skipped the Apple ID part, now what can I do to reset my password?

The other way is the one used for older devices and it too may likely require your Apple ID and password, so in the end it may become more a question of resetting your password than Screen Time itself.

read this Apple Support document about what to do "If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled". Click here then select your device type if necessary --> http://support.apple.com/HT204306 - Also has links for what to do for an iPad or an iPod touch.

This will erase the device. You can restore your device from a backup but the backup has to date from before you set the forgotten passcode or it too will be restored.

On the remote contingency you are asked for your Apple ID and password AND you have forgotten those:

I has assumed you had tried the method in the referring link and which was just re-posted. You said, "an Apple ID because when I typed the correct password it would just tell me it was wrong."

As I said, what you really need to do is get your passcode working again and to do that, follow the link in second half of my first post about what to do about a forgotten password.
