Can't load Garageband

I understand that I can use Garageband to digitize my LP collection. However, when I went to the App Store to download Garage band I got the message "GarageBand can’t be installed on “Bob's MacPro” because macOS version 11 or later is required." I don't understand why since I am using 10.13.6. What is wrong or what am I doing wrong? I own the LP's and do not intend to sell or give them away. I just want to listen to them on my current equipment.

That is 11.X not 10.11! Big Sur is 11.

If you can't get Big Sur, you might be out of luck. Have you ever downloaded Garageband before?

If you don't get GB, you should be able to use the free Audacity, too.
