Mac Photos stuck on "updating..."

Hi,

I'm running BigSur 11.4 and I recently purchased extra space for iCloud to store photos I have on my iPhone.

I can see on iCloud webpage photos and videos correctly updated (almost instantly).

When opening Photos on Mac it is stuck on "updating..."

I obviously double checked system preferences to be sure sync is enabled and tried to restart several times

Also tried to change/reset system photo library, tried to create a new one too.

What looks weird to mee is that Mac is not even trying to download anything since I can see nothing in Photos (albums, people places etc.). It seems like it can't manage to run initial configuration and download.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

nevermind.

I found by myself. it was a matter of free space on Mac's HDD.

Thank you anyway.
