ipad apps on macs

I have a Mac, and so does my friend. He can download iPad apps on his Mac with the "iPhone and iPad apps" option in the Mac app store, but I don't seem to have that option. I don't know why this is or what the solution is.

That's only available on Silicon-based Macs.
