iCloud Backup

Let’s say I successfully backed up my whole iPhone 12 Pro Max, and it’s stored in my family iCloud (storage plan 2 TB). And the iPhone unaccountably smacked into pieces, and I purchased a new phone.

Will I'm be able to restore all my information on the smacked phone onto my new phone if it’s fully backed up in the iCloud?

If I can, then when I set up the new device, the only thing I need it’s the Apple ID of my previous device?

The answer to both questions is Yes. As long as the content is included in the backup, it will be restored to the new phone.

But bear in mind that content that you sync with iCloud like contacts, reminders, calendars, notes and other content is not stored in the backup, but it will download again from iCloud when you sign into your Apple ID/iCloud account when setting up the new phone from the backup.
