Spam gmail texts

I know this has probably been discussed, but I couldn't find a solution. I have been receiving texts from various gmail accounts, all of the gmail addresses are different with each text. The texts are all porn related, and are sent to 20 phone numbers at a time, all consecutive numbers. I have an iphone 11, and I do know that I can filter my text messages to known/unknown but I want to be able to completely stop and/or block these type of texts. Filtering them is not a fix to the problem. I can't block the gmail address, and can find no other way to stop them. Any solutions??

No, Apple Support, this did not answer my issue. I am receiving TEXT messages from different gmail addresses. It's not an email coming to my email account, it's not a phone number sending a text. There is no "caller" to block. I need to be able to block gmail addresses from sending texts. They are p0rn messages.

open the message thread - tap the top icon - i info - info again - block this caller..

Who is your cellular carrier?

Assuming these are SMS/MMS messages, your carrier has the ability to completely block all messages originating from email addresses instead of phone numbers at their gateway.

If you have AT&T, call customer service and ask the rep to look up article *446389 in their support system. It explains what they need to do.

Unfortunately, from what I'm hearing lately, Verizon is uncooperative when it comes to this problem.

This is not Apple Support. This is a user-to-user forum. Not Apple.

If you’re getting SMS (green) text messages that originate from Google mail or other sources of mail, check with your carrier. The carrier probably have a mail-to-SMS gateway running somewhere, and you or they may be able to selectively disable that feature,

Grumble to your legislative representatives too, as this spam mess isn’t going to get solved by carriers without external encouragement.
