Auto-capitalisation of first names

When I type in a first name such as Colin it is automatically changed to all capital letters, so I then have to change it. I do not want to turn off auto-capitalisation (which would solve the problem) as this is even more annoying because all sentences and paragraphs will then not automatically start with a capital letter. Surely this needs to be addressed and resolved!
