Hello,

Hmm, if everything is set up correctly, messages should go to both phones if they are both active. See this:

If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime - Apple Support

Also see:

Deregister iMessage on your iPhone or online - Apple Support

Hmm, if everything is set up correctly, messages should go to both phones if they are both active. See this:

If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime - Apple Support
