How best to import .mbox mail into Apple Mail?

Hi all,

I have some mail located in some "on my Mac" folders on Catalina Apple Mail backup disk.

I would like to import these into another High Sierra Mac - apple mail "on my Mac".

I have access to the raw Catalina library mail folder :

Mail>v7>xxxxxxx>legacy1.mbox

Mail>v7>xxxxxxx>legacy2.mbox

etc.

Curious the best way to import these into High Sierra?

Apple Mail > File > Import mailbox ?

or Just Drag them in or something else ?

Thanks

Also when I do Import mailbox - it asks if apple mail or mbox ... even though these are mbox's I guess I should choose Apple Mail?

well when I tried import as apple mail - they came in with many sub directory trees - not the best for me...

Maybe I will try as import mbox...

When I try as import mbox - I choose the folder.mbox - but it says no valid mboxes was found

Hmmm?
