HomePod “set a timer” does not work.

My HomePods won’t play the sound for timers. I have two full-size HomePods and two Minis and all are displaying the same issue.

I can play music, I can set alarms, and I can ask Siri questions time- weather - date… but none will “ring” timers any longer.

Siri replies “five second timer starting now” — but no sound at the end of requested time. All my devices have been updated as well as my iPhone, iPads, and MacBook. I have hard reset all devices.

First try restarting them:

Open the Home App - Long press on the HomePod icon to bring up settings, scroll down to the gear icon, tap that, scroll to the bottom to Reset HomePod - then select Restart HomePod

If this fails to fix the issue, you will need to Reset them: Reset HomePod - Apple Support
