Easiest and most direct way, in a Web browser, is to tap a finger and hold on an image.

A pop-up menu appears under your finger.

Tap Save to Album to save to your Pictures app or tap the Share Image to share with other apps on your iPad or email the image to others using either the default iOS/iPadOS Mail app or any other third party Mail app.
