What is the latest version of Photos?

My Photos app is version 6 and google says the most recent is 9.6.1. I have Big Sur installed and Photos is supposed to be updated every time the system is. Why would my version of Photos not be up to date?

The current version is 6.0 on a Mac


A quick search indicates that 9.6.1 refers to iPhoto, not Photos. iPhoto was discontinued in 2016 and 9.6.1 was the last version.
