Reinstalling MacOS on iMac after erasing the hard drive

After erasing my internal hard drive on my iMac (mid 2010) , I attempted to reinstall macOS(High Sierra) and got an error code saying "The recovery server could not be contacted". How can I reinstall macOS?

If you iMac was upgraded for Internet Recovery (Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support), try Command+Opt+R and check. You need to have an Internet connection to use Internet Recovery.
