i tried cleaning my airpods gently with a dry cotton swab (like the website recommended) because the volume in both were very low and now they are even quieter. I have the volume all the way up and it sounds like it’s on 2. what should i do? i’ve had original airpods for about 2 yrs?

Look at the grills on the speaker outlets and see how much earwax is there. Clean it with a hearing aid kit or put the grill in your mouth and suck.
