Caches would be being used for remembrance of application use. So, clearing other may be the way to go about this, as it would be performs through use of a computer.

1. To clear Other will require restoring the iPhone, best to first check if it is unwieldy large.
2. Other does NOT "basically contains unnecessary files..."
3. Caches in Other are not used for remembrance of application use.
4. "as it would be performs through use of computer" doesn't mean anything.
5. Some data stored are not just for ease of use and it is very unusual over time for them to grow so large that they would eat up an inordinate amount of space.

I have suggested more than once that the Littles should drop it or rewrite it.
