Does apple tv 4K work on a 1080p/1080i tv? If so what HDMI cable is recommended?

Apple TV 4K work fine on lower than 4K resolutions, including 1080p and 720p. Not 1080i however.

For 1080p, a minimum of 10 Gbps certified cable is recommended, but if you’re buying a new cable, then I would advise a better spec cable: 18 Gbps or 48 Gbps, as that will work with higher spec TVs as well.
