Progress Bar Stuck:

If your Mac Starts Up to an Apple Logo or Progress Bar - Apple Support


Use an External Keyboard:

For a Mac that does not have a USB-A port, this would be the adapter to use: USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple

Hi there!

If you are stuck on the Apple Logo along with the progress bar, try booting into internet recovery and go to the disk utility from there, and press first aid on all of your volumes and/or partitions. You boot into internet recovery by pressing Command – Option – R From a shutdown state until you see a globe logo saying "booting internet recovery".
