How do I update my MacBook Air (13in, Early 2015)?

My laptop says that there is no update available. I need to do a system update so I can download apps for school.

Thank you.

The model year of a MacBook Air is available at Apple menu > About This Mac.

A mid-2013 or later can be upgraded to the current version of Big Sur. See: How to upgrade to macOS Big Sur - Apple Support
