How do I change the phone # of my Emergency Contact in SOS without having to change the person? When I press « Edit » , it won’t allow me to change or delete the phone number.
Simply restarting my phone of course made no difference. I don’t understand what you mean by « Following the article steps ». I don’t see a link to any article in this reply. I suspect I can delete my emergency contact and re-enter him with the correct phone number but was hoping for a more straightforward solution.

You may simple have to delete the emergency contact as you mentioned. This section in the article you came from may be useful:
